There is absolutely no reason for a couple to get a dog, cat, Cambodian baby or any other kind of pet unless you actually live together. Getting a dog together is a test to see if you two could actually raise a child together while living in the same house. Having a dog without living together is basically practice for being divorced with joint custody. Although these tips can be extrapolated to the general population, they are intended for couples having a hard time choosing their first four-legged “test kid.”
