How It’s Played

While we normally don’t encourage anything math-oriented – even when it comes to studying – this game is actually fun enough to forego our golden rule. Everyone sits down at the table with their drink in hand. Pick one person to start; he or she will begin by saying the number “1.” Going clockwise around the table, each person will continue to count upwards. Whenever a number divisible by three is up, the person calling it must instead say “MONSTER.” Whenever a number divisible by five is up, the person calling it must say “MASH.” If you screw up on one of the “monster” or “mash” numbers, you must drink your entire cup.

REMINDER:

CT does NOT condone underage or excessive drinking. Parties become lame when people drink like jackasses and act like fools. Drink responsibly or don’t drink at all.

Game Time!

Play follows as regular ole Quarters, except you’re shooting into an ice tray instead of a cup or pitcher. The game can be played one-on-one or in teams consisting of two or more people.

1) One side of the tray is the “give” side and the other side is the “take” side.

2) The number of drinks to be given or taken corresponds to how far away the tray is from your shooting point (i.e. one drink for close shots, two drinks for farther shots and so on. Set up a maximum of five shot lengths… or more, if you dare!).

3) For every shot you make from a given area, your opponent(s) must drink the corresponding amount. For every shot you miss from a given area, you must drink the corresponding amount (so choose your shot distance wisely… or not).

WARNING:
CT reminds you to always drink responsibly. It ain’t a party if you’ve gotta be taken to the hospital (or the morgue) afterwards.

You’ll need:

20 cans of beer

The Setup:

Pull out 6 cans of beer and place them on a table.  Everyone turns their back and one player shakes up one of the cans of beer.

How To Play:

Everyone chooses one of the beers except the player who did the shaking; he/she gets the last one.  Everyone places their beer firmly on top of their head and on the count of three opens. Players may not remove their beer from their head until all beers have finished exploding.  The player who has their beer explode on their head is out.  Everyone must finish their own beer before the next round begins.

Set the game back up with five cans and five players.  Continue the process eliminating one player at a time.  The last player standing wins.

A maximum of 15 minutes is allowed between rounds.  If a player cannot finish their beer for any reason they must pour the remainder on their head.  Puking does not disqualify you and is entirely legal.

Drunken Risk

You’ll Need:

The game of Risk
Lots of booze

The Setup:

The setup for Risk can be found in the instructions included with the game. The only additional setup required is a drink for each player.

How To Play:

The gameplay also follows the standard rules of Risk except for the following additions:

• When anyone loses an army, they must take a drink for each unit lost
• When anyone loses a country, they must take 3 drinks
• If the lost country causes them to lose control of a continent, they must drink the value of the continent (5 for N. America)
• When a player is eliminated they must pound a full drink

Ricochet

You’ll Need:
4 cans or cups of beer, 1 ping-pong ball

Setup:
Place the beers on all 4 corners of the table or beer pong surface. Whichever team goes first starts with the ball.

How To Play:
The first player attempts to strike on of the opponents’ beers with the ball. If he misses, the other team gets the ball. If he hits it, his teammate drinks until the opposing team retrieves the ball and places it between their beers. At this point, it is the other teams turn. Whichever team finishes their beer first wins.

If you are playing with cups, an additional rule applies. Should a player make it in an opponent’s cup, the opponent must finish the beer and replace it with a full cup. Note the trade off between hitting the cup hard and forcing a lengthy retrieval and trying to make the cup which generally allows a quick retrieval.

Tower Of Power

You’ll Need:

A shot of any kind
A small mixed drink (ie. Gin and Tonic)
A large mixed drink (ie. Long Island)
A glass of wine
A pint of beer
A dice
Four cardboard coasters

Setup:
Stack the drinks on the bar with the beer on the bottom followed by the wine followed by the large mixed drink followed by the small mixed drink followed by the shot; use the coasters in between the drinks. Each player rolls the dice once; the player with the highest number goes first.

How To Play:

The first player rolls the dice, if the player gets a 6 then they consume the top drink (the shot to begin with) and pass the dice to their left.  If they roll any other number they pass the dice to their left.  This continues until someone rolls a 6 on the beer. Everyone must wait for the person to finish their drink before rolling continues (except for the beer).

After a player rolls a 6 on the beer they must pass the dice to their left and chug the beer.  While the chugger is finishing the beer the remaining players must take turns trying to roll a 6 before the chugger finishes their beer.  If any of the other players rolls a 6 before the chugger finishes the chugger must pay for the drinks.  If the chugger finishes before the players can roll a 6 then they must take turns rolling the dice (the last player to roll starts) until someone rolls a 6 and they must pay for the drinks.

Drunken Jenga

You Need: The game Jenga and a pen

Setup:
Mark 6 Jenga pieces with each of the following rules:

• Give 2 drinks
• Give 1 drink
• Take 1 drink
• Take 2 drinks
• Take 5 drinks
• Finish your drink
• Waterfall
• Girls drink
• Guys drink

How To Play:
The game follows the regular rules of Jenga. Each player takes a turn removing a block using only 1 hand. If the block is successfully removed, the rule on the block is followed. If the tower crashes, the player must finish their drink and then pick 3 blocks to follow.

Six Cup

You Need: Six cups of varying sizes, One type of alcohol per player, One dice

Set up:
The empty cups are arranged in a row and numbered one through six.  Each player rolls the dice once; the player with the highest number goes first.

How To Play:
The first player rolls the dice, they then add as much of their alcohol as they want to the corresponding cup and pass the dice to the person on their left.  If a player rolls the number of a cup with alcohol already in it then they must drink whatever is in the cup and pass the dice to their left.  The last player standing wins.

Shra

You’ll Need: People, beer, and a deck of cards with 10 through Ace only.

How To Play: Place one full cup of beer in the center of the table, and arrange the 20 cards in any desired formation around the cup of beer. Play goes in a circle around the table. The first player draws a card. The following table shows what will follow:

10 - Word Association
J - Social drink
Q - that player drinks
K - Give one drink to anybody
A - the first three aces drawn don’t do anything. Whoever draws the fourth and final Ace must drink the entire cup of beer in the center of the table.

A few rules about Word Association. The player who draws the 10 starts by saying any word. The next player continues on by saying an associated word. This ends when either somebody can’t think of another word IMMEDIATELY, or if a previous word is repeated from that round. Both instances results in a drink. It’s that simple.

Speed Quarters

This version of Quarters doesn’t allow for those certain people to concentrate for half-an-hour while everyone else gets bored.

You’ll Need: People, beer, a shallow glass, and two quarters.

How To Play: Situate everyone in a circle. Give the two quarters to two people opposite each other in the circle (or as opposite as possible). Then, say “GO!” and the two people try to bounce their quarters into the same glass. They get as many tries as it takes and can take as long as they want…BUT when one does make it in, that person passes his/her quarter to the person on their left. Then this person must bounce the quarter in. This goes on until a person gets passed a quarter when s/he already has a quarter. This person then must drink some beer, you choose the amount.

Sometimes, depending on the number of people playing, it’s better to play with two glasses. Then both the quarter and glass get passed after a successful attempt.

Thanksgiving is the only major holiday that doesn’t revolve around alcohol. St. Paddy’s Day and Cinco de Mayo are obvious, so we’ll disregard them immediately. But Christmas has eggnog by the gallon, New Year’s Eve has enough champagne to satisfy a rap group for about an hour, July 4th has red, white and blue-colored cocktails and Valentine’s Day has plenty of red wine to keep your heart affectionately beating forever.

What’s Thanksgiving got? Turkey, stuffing and sweet potato pie. Now, we’re not complaining about any of those things… but wouldn’t it be nice to have a festive cocktail to wash down your feast? Yeah, we thought you’d agree.

Pumpkin Pie

• 1 oz. Malibu rum
• 1 oz. Kahlua
• 6 oz. milk
• 1/3 tsp. cinnamon
• 1/2 to 1 tsp. pumpkin pie filling (depending on desired taste)
Blend all ingredients together in a blender with a few cubes of ice. Serve in a glass rimmed with very finely crushed graham cracker crumbs. Sprinkle more cinnamon on top for garnish.

Ginger Snap

• 3/4 oz. Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
• 1/2 oz. ginger brandy
• 4 oz. eggnog
Combine rum, brandy and eggnog in a blender. Blend to desired consistency. Garnish with a ginger snap for dunking.

Gobble-tini

• 1 1/2 oz. Smirnoff Cranberry Vodka
• 1/4 oz. raspberry liqueur
• Splash of cranberry juice
Add vodka, raspberry liqueur, and cranberry juice to an ice-filled shaker and shake to mix. Strain into a cocktail glass. Serve garnished with 3 whole cranberries on a stick.

Turkey Shooter

• 3/4 oz. Wild Turkey
• 1/4 oz. White Crème de Menthe
Pour shot of Wild Turkey into brandy snifter or liqueur glass. Layer Crème de Menthe on top by slowly tilting the glassware forward while pouring in Crème de Menthe.

Butterball

• 1 part amaretto
• 1 part butterscotch schnapps
• Whipped cream
Pour amaretto into a shot glass and layer the schnapps on top. Top with a dash of whipped cream. Throw it back as a single shot.

Tsunami

You need: - 3+ People and a deck of cards

How to play:

Shuffle deck, flip first card over(Aces Highest, 2s lowest).

The dealer chooses the person to start.

The first person can say, higher, lower, purple, or tsunami.

Purple=next 2 cards must be same color

Tsunami=next 4 cards must be 2red and 2black.

Guesser must get 4 cards right in a row in order to pass and become dealer.

Cards stay on the table until someone gets it wrong.

When someone gets it wrong, they chug while the dealer counts out the cards.

Dealer may count as slow or fast as they want.

Example:

The first card flipped over is a 4. First person guesses what the next card will be, higher or lower. If they guessed higher and the next card is a 3, they drink however many cards are on the table. The game doesn’t end until the beer runs out or you’re too messed up to play.

Buffalo

You Need: Some friends and your left hand.

How To Play: Everybody must use their left hand while drinking (except if you are left handed). If you see anyone drinking with the right hand, you begin shouting BUFFALO! BUFFALO! BUFFALO! and clap your hands or bang a table in the same rythm. Now everybody notice and join in. This means that the unfortunate drinker must finish his/her drink as fast as he/she can to make you stop.

There are no exceptions from finishing the drink.

Drug Dealer

You Need: A deck of cards and a party

How To Play: This is a game to play while doing other things at a party. To play the game you need one playing card for each participant. You always need one King and one Ace, and a variety of numbered cards some low, some mid, some high, but just one card per player.

The cards are dealt face down, take a quick peek. The person who gets the King is the cop, the person who gets the ace is the drug dealer, everyone else are bystanders.

It is the drug dealers job to very VERY discreetly wink at another player, this person while eventually say ‘the deal has been made.’ At this time the cop identifies him/herself and tries to figure out who the dealer is. The cop chooses a player, if wrong the cop drinks the number shown on the card, and then chooses again, if wrong again, he drinks the number on that card. When the cop chooses correctly, the drug dealer drinks the NUMBER OF CARDS remaining NOT the total of the numbers on the cards.

After that, the cards are redealt and the game goes on.

This is a great game for when people don’t feel like playing a game because it’s the regular socializing that helps disguise any winks and keep the cop on his/her toes. However, it helps a lot if the players do sit in a circle while playing, and not spread around a room.

Obviously if you want to increase the boot factor, play with high numbered cards.

Landmines and Mexican Quarters have to be two of the fastest ways I’ve ever come across to get completely hammered. So be sure to hide everyone’s car keys and call Dominos BEFORE you start playing either one of these brain cell killing games.

Landmines

You need:

A quarter, a shot glass, a bigger shot glass (3-4 shots), 3 or more friends, and beer in a can.

How To Play:

Pick a random person to start with the quarter and the shot glass. That player fills the shot glass with their own beer (it is important to use your own). That player flicks the quarter to make it spin
on the table, and while it is spinning they take the shot. Then with the same hand you took the shot with, catch the quarter between your index and middle finger before it stops spinning.

If you catch the quarter before it stops, the person to the left goes. If you screw up, either by not catching the quarter in time or flicking it off the table, you must go again. After 3 misses, you must use the large shot glass and try again. Keep going until you catch the quarter.

Now here is where it gets interesting. Once you finish your beer, you can slam your empty beer can on a spinning quarter during another player’s turn. It then stays there for the remainder of the game. Squeeze the sides in a bit to make sure everyone knows it is a Land Mine. This counts as a miss for the player who spun the quarter, and they must go again.

Soon enough, the table will be covered with random Land Mines that will get in the way of your spinning quarter. The Land Mines will cause many more misses and a whole lot more drinking. If a player touches a Land Mine during their turn, that too counts as a miss. Keep playing until everyone is sick or there is no more room to spin the quarter.

Mexican Quarters

You Need: People, beer (or anything you want to drink), and a quarter.

How To Play:
Object: Everyone sits around a flat table, beers in hand. One person is given the quarter and he/she chooses one of the other players to challenge. He/she then spins the quarter and before it stops spinning, the person spinning the quarter must cover it with one hand. The chosen person then must guess if its Heads or Tails.

If he/she gets it wrong, the spinner spins the quarter again and the chosen person must drink for as long as that quarter is spinning. The spinner then covers the quarter again before it stops spinning and the chosen person has to then guess again Heads or Tails.

If he/she is wrong 3 times in a row, the spinner then must make a rule on that person. However, if he/she guesses it right on the first spin, then the quarter gets passed to that person and it starts again.
