I can’t really think of anything responsible that ever came out of drinking. Where I’m from, drinking responsibly means not littering a scenic country road with empty beer bottles. Instead we fling them out of a moving truck so they shatter against an unsuspecting road sign and return to it’s original sand form.

But on a recent trip to see Harry at Springhill Liquors, drinking responsibly took on a whole new meaning that shook my inner Redneck to his core.

Nestled between all the normal every day bottles were three bottles that looked like the love children of a bottle of Smirnoff and a sixer of Grolsch Ale. (You know, the beer with the cool metal flip cap thingies) It was three bottles of 360 Vodka. One regular, one chocolate flavored and one cola flavored. That’s right. I said cola frikin’ flavored vodka! And they all had the cool swingtop stoppers.

But the kids at 360 didn’t stop there. You see boys and girls, 360 vodka is the world’s first eco-friendly vodka. Notice I didn’t say world’s first hippie-friendly organic vodka. I said eco-friendly. The bottle is made of 85% recycled glass while the label and shipping crates are all made of 100% post consumer recycled paper.

There was even a little folded up envelope hanging around the neck that read:

360 Vodka’s Close the Loop Program Supports the Environment: Carefully remove the wire swingtop and drop it into this pre-paid envelope. For every closure returned, 360 Vodka will donate $1.00 to recognized environmental causes.

Now any company who goes through this much trouble to bring an environmentally-responsible product would be well within its right to charge a premium for such a product. Right? Wrong. Also hanging around the bottle’s neck is a “Save Some Green” coupon.

If you fill out the back of this coupon and send it in with your receipt, 360 will send you a voucher for $10 toward your next 750ML bottle of 360 Vodka. Did I mention it only costs $16 to start with? According to my redneck math, that’s cheaper than any rock-gut bottom shelf vodka from ABC Liquors.

After realizing I could single-handedly save the world by drinking all three of these bottles, I scooped them up, paid Harry in $1 gold pieces from a Crown Royal bag and headed home.

First up was the regular 360 Vodka. I went with what I knew and mixed it half and half with some Simply Orange. Outstanding! Being four times distilled and five times filtered definitely makes this a smooth-ass vodka.

Next up was the Chocolate-flavored 360 Vodka. Because I always abide, I pulled down a bottle of Kaluah and grabbed some cream out of the fridge. I mixed half a glass of vodka with equal parts Kaluah and milk. The Dude would be proud. Hell, Mama and Papa Gustafson who made the milk would be proud. This is a great drink by anyone’s standards.

The first two passed with flying colors, but I saved the most curious of the three for last. I started having flashbacks of the time I was to drunk to go to the store and all I had left was a bottle of Tarkov Vodka and some Pepsi. It was not the best combination. So it was not without reason that I was skeptical of cola-flavored vodka.

True to my style I mixed 360 Cola Vodka with half a glass of plain old Pepsi. Then I drank it. Somewhere in Siberia the clouds parted letting the sun shine through…and a lone tear rolled down a Russian’s cheek. Bravo 360. Bravo.

I take that back, the one thing worse than that is when you play beer pong with a bunch of amateurs who take 10 minutes to make their first cup resulting in you having to drink warm Natty Light.

These scenarios, along with many other keeping-your-drink-cold issues, could be avoided completely if everyone would just forgo the standard, non-insulated, red SOLO cup for a state of the art Chilly Twist Cup.

The first thing I noticed about these cups is that they aren’t designed like those lame-ass mugs you put in the freezer that thaw out faster than the drink they’re supposed to keep cold. Rather than have some type of fluid or gel that freezes around the entire cup that melts from the heat from your hand, the Chilly Twist has a detachable coolant base that stays as cold as 25 degrees for HOURS! Plus you only have to keep the base in the freezer, so no more beer mugs crowding the tater tots.

The second thing I noticed was that the rim of these 16oz cups are the exact same diameter of the red SOLO cups normally used in beer pong. Couple that with the added stability from the heavy coolant base and you’ve got quite possibly the perfect beer pong cup. No more spills all over your Stiga ping pong table, no more broken glass from knocking over real glasses, and no more red cups filling up landfills.

The Chilly Twist comes in 7 different colors, and the top portion is dishwasher safe. (They recommend hand washing the base) You can pick up your own Chilly Twist at ChillyTwist.com for $4.50, or you can buy a set of 6 for $19.95 and whole beer pong set of 20 for $59.99.

With Spring Break creeping up like a Shriner at a sorority party, it’s time to think about more than just running off that fat ass you’ve managed to grow yourself over the winter - It’s time to think about how you’re going to protect your skin during your first jaunt to the beach of the year…It’s time to talk about sunscreen.

And no, I’m not talking about proper usage of the whole “Want me to rub that sunscreen on your back?” trick to get girls into letting you touch them. I’m talking about some serious health-related stuff here. According the American Cancer Society, unprotected and/or excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation is the leading cause of the more than 1 million cases of skin cancer diagnosed yearly.

If that doesn’t give you enough motivation to wear sunscreen, maybe the threat of looking like Donatella Versace or an 80-year-old farmer with skin like beef jerkey is.

And if you’re tired of lugging around that giant $4 bottle of NO-AD sunscreen you picked up from Wal-Mart 3 years ago, you’re in luck. (Is that crusty stuff around the lid still technically sunscreen?)

Our friends at Game Face Performance Sunscreen have come up with a new SPF 30 sunscreen that not only comes in lotion or spray form, but is also a non-sticky, PABA-free formula.

And get this, you can get your bottle in your favorite college teams colors complete with officially licensed logos. And it’s not just one or two teams either. Game Face offers more than 40 different NCAA teams for you to choose from.

So not only can you keep your epidermis in tact for the entire summer, but when football, baseball and yes, even softball season rolls around, you can make sure you don’t end up looking like a less bad-ass version of Clint Eastwood while sporting your team’s colors.

And if you’re a player of one of the aforementioned sports, you can keep up with your Game Face sunscreen via the carabiner (That’s Indian for “little clasp”. I had to look it up too.) that allows you to clip it onto your bag or backpack. And when you have to become a janitor because you didn’t have what it takes to go pro, you can also use it as a key chain.

With a cool and easy to carry/use product like this, there’s no reason for you to be that guy with the farmer’s tan or that girl with the “I wore my giant glasses at the beach with no sunscreen on my face” raccoon eyes.

You can find Game Face Performance Sunscreen at many local book stores and can find Spring Break special deals on their site at www.gamefacesunscreen.com. You can also join their Facebook group and keep up with all the latest news, products and contests from Game Face.

In Case you’ve been living under a rock, FOOTBALL SEASON STARTS TOMORROW! That’s right, tomorrow campuses across the country are going to be smorgasbords of beer, food, loud music and thousands of grills with each festival of absolute excess culminating with 3 hours of gladiator like contest.

Grills that are going to have to be cleaned the next day by people with monumental hangovers who would rather be doing anything other than cleaning all the burnt-on BBQ sauce from the previous day’s tailgating festivities. That is of course unless said people were smart enough to grab a new EZ Grill Disposable Charcoal Grill from the grocery store or gas station when they were picking up the rest of their tailgating supplies.

Next to actual meat itself, this is quite possibly one of the most useful and convenient inventions ever to be created by man. Everything you need (Except for 1 match) to grill a tailgating feast comes in a nice neat package. Just remove the EZ Grill from it’s charcoal-dust-proof plastic wrapping, put it on it’s wire stand, throw in a match and in 15 minutes you’re ready to grill up everything from brats to steaks. The EZ Grill stays hot enough to cook anything you can throw at it for at least 1 1/2 hours. I literally cooked on mine until I had too much food for everyone to eat.

What’s really cool about the EZ Grill is that once you’re done cooking you just fold it up into itself and throw it into the garbage. (Make sure it’s cooled down first) After I had a chance to use one of these and realized how easy and convenient they were, I started keeping one in my car. What? You never know when a party is going to break out or when you’ll be stranded on some back road somewhere and need to kill something and cook it to survive. My mamma didn’t raise no fool and at less than $20 for four of the regular size, I stocked up.

The EZ Grill comes in two different sizes with the Regular EZ Grill measuring 9.8″ X 12.2″ and the Party EZ Grill measuring 18.9″ X 12.2″. The regular is great for keeping in your car or camping while the party size is ideal for tailgating or situations where you’re going to be cooking for several people.
